The POWER of your words

Scientist harness the power of  the raging waters from a river, they ingeniously develop mechanisms to extract power from the sunlight and wind turbines generate electricity that can light a city, yet still all of these forces of nature pale in comparison to the power of the tongue. There are times when we speak without being aware of the sheer ability and power that we possess to change our surroundings, circumstances and situations with ONE word. Have you ever given any thought as to why you are in the situation that you presently find yourself? If one should examine very closely, the reality of our experience is due overwhelmingly to the things we have spoken in to our lives. I think that we sometimes forget that we possess traits of the Creator who effortlessly spoke everything into existence (See Genesis chapter 1). So instead of complaining, use your words to express gratitude. Instead of berating someone because of a disagreement or a difference in opinion bless them instead. Speak life into your surroundings and the difference will be unmistakeable.

Proverbs 18: 20-21 From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
   with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. 21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
   and those who love it will eat its fruit. NIV
